REGARDING MY PERFORMANCE
1. What were the three aspects of the assignments I've submitted that I am most proud of?
A. The unit 2 lab was a lot of fun and I felt it came out the way I had planned.
B. My ethical essay has some good points and is all based on reality.
C. By in large the whole accomplishment of the unit is something to be proud of.
2. What two aspects of my submitted assignments do I believe could have used some improvement?
A. My compendium reviews are not very interesting. I have now had trouble with them on both units. I just don’t learn well writing out my notes in an organized manner. I need to figure out a way make it less boring and a good study guide.
B. I should spend more time surfing the cool links that are provided.
3. What do I believe my overall grade should be for this unit?
A. My overall grade is up to Larry, but I would like to see a B.
4. How could I perform better in the next unit?
A. Performing better on unit 3 is similar to the past units, I will show more interest in the internet based material and try to focus on my compendiums.
REGARDING THE UNIT
At what moment during this unit did you feel most engaged with the course?
A. I was most engaged working on and writing the unit lab.
At what moment unit did you feel most distanced from the course?
A. When I was working, I felt this pressure and couldn’t do anything about it.
What action that anyone (teacher or student) took during this unit that find most affirming and helpful?
A. All of the help my crew gave me in getting all of my vitals and the pictures were great too.
What action that anyone (teacher or student) took during this unit did you find most puzzling or confusing?
A. Trying to communicate is the toughest part of the class. I have questions and didn’t know how I was doing.
What about this unit surprised you the most?
A. I was really surprised with the relationship these chapters had with my work. The general nutrition and how we try and use those same ideas in the fire house. My job is based on all of the human systems that we covered.

Nick, great job on this unit. I really appreciate the personal perspective on the lab project and how you incorporated it with your workday—I think you do a good job organizing the compendiums…just finding the right level of detail…maybe do a scratch paper outline with a table of contents first…something like that….you’re obviously understanding the material very well—keep it up!
LF
COMPENDIUM MAJOR TOPIC ONE: OXYGEN, MICROBES, IMMUNITY:
This compendium looks great to me. You mention in your self-eval not feeling like you have a grasp on organizing the compendiums, but this one is great…a nice table of contents with quite a bit of detail that you then cover in nice short paragraphs on each topic. I might add some bullet points with definitions of some terms or that include a bit more vocabularly, but otherwise great. I didn’t see anything on AIDS here…a bit on immunity so be sure you cover all the topics at least that are in the PowerPoints.
COMPENDIUM MAJOR TOPIC TWO: NUTRITION:
This compendium seems less extensive. I think your expanded table of contents in the first one makes sure that you cover the topics in more depth. More on nutrition, different aspects of nutrition—carbs, proeins, etc.. and also more on the process of digestion—all that could have been included. However, what is here is well organized and good info.
LAB MAJOR TOPIC ONE: BLOOD PRESSURE
This lab write-up looks great. You choose a comparison, get your data, and do a good job analyzing it.
LAB MAJOR TOPIC TWO: A DAY OF FOOD
Very honest self-evaluation..I couldn’t quite see the numbes even magnifying the image, but maybe Del Taco tacos aren’t all that bad…I mean they must have basic carbs, proteins…proably way too much sodium, but that’s something almost everyone faces!
LAB PROJECT: EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY:
This lab write-up is a classic! I really enjoy how you mix a picture of what your day at work is like with some great data…too bad you didn’t get called out to a fire (I guess!) but then I was wondering how you would get your vitals if that happened anyways. In fact, I wonder when you took your stats after being ‘toned out” to a medical call. I can see how you say that this unit really meshed in with your work.
ETHICAL ISSUE ESSAY: WHAT IS FOOD:
I think you are right—we are going to rely on our mass agricultural cash production for a 0long time to come…it has its good and bad points, but cities won’t make it without it…we are just one failed harvest away from starvation and that is something it is easy to forget under the current situation…I hope we don’t personally experience it, but it happens all the time around the world in limited areas—will it happen on a larger scale—ouch!
